about
As anyone that has watched the film Avatar. Movies written about alien invasions are often about problems we are experiencing today.
The film follows a soldier who becomes an alien replica in order to learn the ways of the native people of a distant planet. His purpose is to convince the natives to leave in order for the invaders to take their planet’s natural resources. The song is written from the alien’s perspective and as you progress through the song you will learn that the invaders are in fact us.
lyrics
Like the hands of the clock
Our final hours pass we never had a chance
We were doomed from the start
Cities fall silent prepare for the worst
Like kids climbing mountains we walked on the wire
We crawled to the top ‘til we could get no higher
We all tried to fly but they pulled off our wings
One at a time we're thrown into the fire
Through the pitch black ceiling like a knife it splits the sky
We fall to our knees in disbelief and some pray, the time has come
Now placing our faith in our Gods our military might
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, at the mercy ourselves
They're taking over
Invaders
They're taking over
Invaders
They're taking over
Through the tribe waves shock
The snake in the grass spreads like cracks through the glass
Crooked teeth and two hands
The beast in the jungle, he kills out of spite
Through the pitch black ceiling like a knife it splits the sky
We fall to our knees in disbelief and some pray, the time has come
Now placing our faith in our Gods our military might
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, at the mercy ourselves
